Karan Johar‘s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is one of the most anticipated Bollywood films of 2023. It marks the return of Karan as a director after nearly seven years and it also celebrates the 25th anniversary of Karan as a director in the industry. As the release date nears, the team has been going all out to promote the film and generate awareness.
Now, the official runtime of the film is out; Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is 168.33 minutes long which means it’s roughly around 2 hours, 48 min, and 33 sec long. While the duration is quite long, it’s normal for a Karan Johar film who is known for making long films. But the duration won’t be an issue as Karan is a master storyteller with a successful track record.
Film Receives UA Rating
We have also learned that the film has a UA certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on 19 July. Recently, we also got to know that the film has recovered most of its production cost ahead of the release. The film is made on a production budget of 160 crore and a further 18 crore was spent on print & publicity.
This takes the total Cost of Production (CoP) of the film to a staggering 178 crore. It has received 80 crores for its digital rights from Amazon Prime Video and 50 crores for its satellite rights by Colors channel. Another 30 crores has come from the sale of its music rights to Saregama. In total, the recovery cost stands at 160 crore so far. This means that Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is in safe hands, commercially. So the makers can relax and hope for the audiences to like the film too when it hits the theatres next week.
