In 2019, filmmaker Dinesh Vijan revealed Munjha as the third instalment in his horror comedy series, following Stree and Roohi. However, due to the pandemic and other challenges, script revisions were necessary. This led to an indefinite postponement of the project.
Last year, Sharvari Wagh was confirmed as the lead actress, and production commenced. Yet, Maddock Films and Dinesh Vijan have yet to announce the release date.
Well, Box Office Worldwide has now exclusively learned an interesting update about the film’s impending release.
Dinesh Vijan’s Munjha To Release in June 2024
An exclusive update from our sources reveals that Munjha, featuring Sharvari Wagh, is scheduled for release in June 2024. Although an official announcement is pending, sources indicate potential release dates of either June 7 or June 21, 2024, based on the team’s preference. The film’s crew is currently immersed in preparations for the release.
More About Munjha
Munjha is expected to intertwine with characters from Roohi and potentially Stree. Initially conceived as a prequel to Stree, the narrative has evolved to introduce a new character portrayed by Sharvari. Helmed by Marathi filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar, renowned for his work in Mauli and The Sholay Girl, Munjha reportedly draws inspiration from folklore and sets the stage for the first crossover in Stree 2.
In an interview with Indian Express, Vijan disclosed that Munjha will feature three distinct characters, with one male character portrayed as a ghost. Sharvari Wagh shares the screen with Abhay Verma, known for his role in The Family Man Season 2. Directed by Aditya Sarpodkar, celebrated for films like Zombivli, Munjha is poised to be an exhilarating addition to the horror comedy universe.
