Mnet has unveiled a new teaser for its upcoming survival show “Build Up”!
“Build Up” is a new survival program in which 40 contestants—many of whom are members of current boy groups—will compete for the chance to debut in a project vocal boy group.
Actress Lee Da Hee will be hosting the show, whose contestants will include PENTAGON’s Yeo One and members of groups like CIX, AB6IX, UP10TION, KNK, A.C.E, WEi, ONE PACT, VANNER, JUST B, BDC, Newkidd, and more.
Meanwhile, the star-studded lineup of judges will include Lee Seok Hoon, Baekho, BTOB’s Eunkwang, MAMAMOO’s Solar, Red Velvet’s Wendy, and Kim Jae Hwan.
The newly released teaser shows the 40 contestants who will be battling for spots in the final four-member lineup. In the teaser, as the 40 participants meet each other for the first time, they create a warm atmosphere by exchanging compliments such as, “You have a powerful voice,” and “You have a voice that I would like to have.” However, the preview also shows the participants expressing thoughts like, “But I don’t think I want to be in a quartet with you,” adding to the tension and raising expectations for the show.
The teaser also introduces PENTAGON’s lead vocalist Yeo One as one of the contestants. In one scene, Yeo One shows strong confidence, while in another he appears anxious and unable to hide his embarrassment, heightening curiosity about the strong competition.
Viewers are then given a glimpse of the show’s harsh assessment of the contestants, particularly teasing a reunion between Lee Seok Hoon and Jay Chang, who met as vocal master and contestant on Mnet’s “Boys Planet” last year.
