Teen Mom 2 star Nathan Griffith’s sister’s call for help reveals chilling details of his alleged attempted strangulation on her earlier this month in Las Vegas.
The recording obtained by TMZ of the call in which a tearful Heather can be heard pleading for protection.
‘He tried to kill me, I’m hurt,’ she told the operator.
‘He strangled me,’ she said of the July 12 incident.
Heather, who is a nurse, declined medical attention, saying she could treat herself, but asked for officers to come to the scene.

The recording revealed it was the second call she had made regarding her brother’s dangerous behavior.
Griffith ended up being arrested for battery by strangulation.
In an earlier call, made before the alleged attack, Heather called 911 to tell them Nathan was threatening her.
‘He said that my husband isn’t home, that I have a reason to be scared.’
She said the former marine was following her around her home, which made it difficult for her to tell the operator what was going on.
Nathan appears to be talking to her in the background as Heather tells him to be quiet and leave her alone.
A police report of the July 12 incident, obtained by TMZ, revealed when officers arrived at her house they discovered his sibling had ‘visible red marks on her neck and redness on her eyelids.’
The outlet reported that the authorities stated his sister was ‘scared and frantic as she described what happened’ to her, after he got upset she brought up his violent past in front of their ‘family and significant others.’
Heather mentioned his reputed violent past in the phone calls to 911.

In her interview with detectives, she recalled him allegedly grabbing ‘her by the throat’ and pushing her ‘down onto the kitchen floor’ then getting ‘got on top of her.’
During the attack, Heather claimed he released his hold around her neck a few times to let her have ‘some oxygen before tightening his grip again.’
She then alleges, he said: ‘You’re going to submit to me.’
During transport, the cops noted he ‘was banging his head into a rear window and making suicidal statements.’
TMZ noted that he continued to scream and yell throughout the booking process.
Meanwhile, Heather, detailed the alleged assault to The Sun as she described feeling like she was ‘going to die’ as he threw her to ‘the ground’ and ‘got on top of.’
‘He came across the kitchen and he started doing what he does to all women, he started choking me,’ she told the site. ‘Finally, when he stopped choking me for like the fifth time, I put my knees to my chest as best as I could and kicked him across the room and ran out the door.’
At first, she said she didn’t want him to be arrested, but hoped law enforcement could let ‘Veterans Affairs take him.’

‘The marks on me were so severe that they said they didn’t have a choice,’ she explained. ‘They said that even if I did say I didn’t want him to go to jail…they can’t just slap him on the wrist. They said he has to go to jail, now.’
She continued: ‘They arrested him on the spot. And it’s so hard to see your little brother go through that. But at the same time, he wasn’t caring about me when he had his hands around my neck.’
An automatic temporary restraining order was put in place to protect her from Nathan.
‘I do feel bad, but I know I’m doing the right thing and sometimes the right thing is hard. I love my brother, but I have no choice but to do something. He nearly killed me!’ she went on. ‘He put both his hands over my throat and literally tried to kill me.’
Despite the attack, she said she still called the VA, so he would have an advocate for his ‘court hearing.’
As for how she plans to proceed with their relationship, Heather says they ‘are done until he gets real help.’
Nathan was booked by police at the Clark County Jail on a charge of battery by strangulation.

This is just the latest run-in with the law for Griffith, after he was arrested in Florida on domestic violence charges in February.

He was charged with ‘domestic battery by strangulation,’ according to booking documents obtained by Us Weekly.
TMZ reported that he had attacked a girlfriend, at the time, and police allegedly arrested him after bruises began to develop on her neck.
Strangulation is considered a particularly dangerous form of intimate partner violence because it is more likely to lead to death than some other forms of physical violence.
Griffith is best known for his whirlwind romance with Teen Mom 2’s Jenelle Evans.
He was featured on the popular MTV reality show from 2013 to 2015.
He and Jenelle got engaged in January of 2015, but they split just two months later when he was arrested for domestic violence.

Griffith has a long history of run-ins with the law, as well as domestic violence.
In 2015, the reality TV actor was arrested and accused of pinning a woman in a bathroom and attempting to remove her engagement ring, all while his show Teen Mom 2 was filming at the location.
Then, in 2016, he was arrested for allegedly strangling a former girlfriend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Griffith was also arrested in 2019 in North Carolina for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
In 2020, the former model was accused of stalking a woman, who was later awarded a temporary restraining order against him, according to The Sun.
