Here’s The Real Reason Why The CBFC Has Asked The Makers Of Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 For 20 Cuts And A Certificate

Akshay Kumar is known for doing around five to six films a year. He prefers prioritising quantity over quality, unlike his contemporary actors. One of the most anticipated films of him this year is OMG 2. The film also stars Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi. However, ever since the film was sent to the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), things haven’t been going well.

Earlier, it was reported that the censor board has sent it to the Revising Committee who have suggested 20 cuts (both audio and video) as well as an A (adult) certificate. But the makers are not happy with these recommendations as it would limit the film’s audience. As the film deals with the theme of sex education, they don’t want to make changes to the story to make it more palatable.

Now, according to media reports, the major delay in the certification is because the film also touches upon masturbation. This, coupled with religious themes, has scared the CBFC to give it a green light as they fear it might hurt people’s religious sentiments. The film is a courtroom drama where a father fights for his son and it deals with sex education. The makers are still eyeing a U/A certificate for the film.

Har Har Mahadev Song Is Out

Today, the makers released a song from the film titled Har Har Mahadev. The song shows Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, gracefully performing the divine Tandav dance. The song has been composed by Vikram Montrose, while the lyrics are penned by Shekhar Astitwa. Earlier, the team had released another song titled Oonchi-Oonchi Waadiyan which featured both Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar. We can hope that the censorship issue gets resolved and the film releases on time.
