Karan Johar’s much-anticipated directorial project, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” is gearing up for its cinema release next week, creating a buzz due to its star-studded cast. The advance booking option is about to be available shortly, while the movie has already passed the censorship process with success. All eyes are eagerly awaiting the film’s arrival on the big screen.
Word Replacements and Dialogue Deletions
The romantic drama “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” underwent the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) process, which resulted in the implementation of specific edits. The CBFC required the removal of the abusive word ‘b******d,’ which was used repeatedly in the movie, and it was substituted with ‘behan di.’ Additionally, the film featured a reference to the popular rum brand Old Monk, which was altered to ‘Bold Monk.’ Furthermore, a mention of ‘Lok Sabha’ in one of the dialogues prompted the CBFC to demand its complete removal without any replacement term allowed.
Additional alterations were made during the CBFC review of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” In a scene related to Rabindranath Tagore, a certain word was replaced with ‘Koi filter,’ but it remains unclear whether the mention of the legendary figure was retained or not. Furthermore, an entire dialogue pertaining to West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamta Banerjee, was required to be removed from the film. Moreover, a dialogue in the lingerie shop scene, deemed as disrespectful and indecent towards women, was taken out, with the term ‘bra’ being substituted with ‘item.’ Following these modifications, the CBFC issued the certificate to the filmmakers on July 19, indicating the movie’s length as 168 minutes, equivalent to 2 hours and 48 minutes.

Following the implementation of the necessary alterations, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) officially issued the certificate to the creators of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” on Wednesday, July 19. According to the censor certificate, the film’s duration is stated as 168 minutes, equivalent to a total running time of 2 hours and 48 minutes. The highly-anticipated movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra. Fans can mark their calendars as the film is set to hit the theaters on July 28.
