Shohreh Aghdashloo looks to be reprising her iconic role of UN executive Chrisjen Avasarala from the critically acclaimed “The Expanse” sci-fi series for the upcoming prequel video game that will kick off its release next week.
Based on the book series by James S. A. Corey, the TV series was set 200 years in the future, where tensions rise between the privileged Earth, the militaristic Mars and the working class in the Asteroid Belt. Aghdashloo, Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, Cara Gee, Wes Chatham and Frankie Adams among others starred.
Co-developed by Telltale Games and Deck Nine, the episodic game serves as a prequel to the TV series, with the first episode launching July 27th and followed by four additional episodes released every two weeks after that.
The game sees Gee reprising her role of Camina Drummer as she is on the hunt for treasures on the outskirts of the asteroid belt when a bloody mutiny breaks loose onboard the Artemis – a ship on which she’s XO. Player choices determine the fate of the ship and its crew.
Avasarala will be the star of her very own bonus episode titled ‘Archangel’, which will debut in the Fall after the rest of the game’s release. Here she navigates threats to Earth and political opponents seeking to take her down, all while managing family drama on a day that will change her life forever.
Pre-orders for the game are now live, with the title coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
