Tiger Shroff, who is known for his action-packed films, is all set to play the desi version of the iconic Hollywood character Rambo in his next film. The actor will start shooting for Rambo from March, under the direction of Rohit Dhawan and the production of Siddharth Anand.

Rambo is the Hindi adaptation of the 1982 Hollywood classic of the same name, which featured Sylvester Stallone as a former Green Beret and Vietnam War veteran who goes on a rampage against his enemies. The film was a huge success and spawned four sequels, the latest being Rambo: Last Blood in 2019.

“The Indian version of Rambo will be directed by Rohit Dhawan with Siddharth Anand and Jio Studios as the producer. The script is locked and the prep work is going on in full swing. Rohit and Siddharth are having all sorts of discussions with various action teams as the idea is to create an action spectacle that does justice to the legacy of Hollywood Original Film,” revealed a source close to Pinkvilla.
Rambo will be shot in India and abroad, and the locations will be finalised soon. “With Jio Studios as the production partner, Sid, and Rohit are all set to go big on the budget front. The idea is to amp up the film on the scale front and re-invent Tiger Shroff as Rambo, It’s a story which has been reworked keeping the sensibilities of Indian Audience in mind,” the source informed adding further that the team is looking to invent newer forms of action with Tiger in this big-scale action adventure.
Tiger Shroff excited to play Rambo
Tiger Shroff, who has been a fan of Stallone since his childhood, expressed his excitement about playing the role of Rambo in an exclusive chat with India Today. He said, “Though it’s too early to talk about it right now, one thing is for sure. It is going to be very different from everything that I have done before. I know it’s very hard to believe but you will see something soon enough and know why I am saying this.”

Tiger Shroff is said to be cutting down on his social media posting and pap presence ahead of Rambo shooting to keep the intrigue of film’s look intact.
The actor also revealed that he is looking forward to working with Rohit Dhawan and Siddharth Anand, who have previously collaborated with him in War, the highest-grossing Indian film of 2019. He said, “I am very much looking forward to Rambo. It has been in the making for a very long time. I am also looking forward to working with Rohit Dhawan and Siddharth Anand. With Sid, I have an equation through War, so looking forward to working with that team again.”
According to reports, Tiger Shroff will undergo a rigorous training regime for Rambo, which will involve learning various martial arts and weapons skills. He will also sport a new look for the film, which is expected to be an out-and-out action extravaganza.
The film is also rumored to star Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, though there has been no official confirmation yet. Some sources have claimed that the actress has been approached by the makers and is keen to work with Tiger Shroff.
