Practical Magic 2: Sandra Bullock & Nicole Kidman in Talks to Reprise Roles SuperNayr

Practical Magic 2, a sequel to the 1998 fantasy romantic drama, is officially in the works, with its two leading stars in talks to return for the movie.

26 years after the original film launched, a sequel to the cult classic is said to be in the works at Warner Bros. Discovery.

According to Variety, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are said to be in talks to reprise their roles as Sally Owens and Gillian Owens, two sisters who are descended from a long line of witches.

What do we know about Practical Magic 2?

Currently, not a whole lot about Practical Magic 2 is known. Akiva Goldsman — who co-wrote the original movie — will reportedly write the screenplay for the movie, with Bullock and Kidman also expected to produce the film if they sign on. More casting information, as well as who may direct the project, have yet to be revealed.

Practical Magic originally released in 1998 and was based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman. The film followed the tale of the Owens’ sisters, who had to channel their magic to try and destroy the evil spirit of Gillian’s abusive boyfriend, which had been targeting the pair. While the film didn’t launch to critical acclaim, it did develop a massive cult following in the years since its release.

Alongside Bullock and Kidman, the film also starred Dianne Wiest, Stockard Channing, and Aidan Quinn. The film was directed by Griffin Dunne from a screenplay written by Robin Swicord, Akiva Goldsman, and Adam Brooks.
