Grammy-Award Winning Industry Professional Charlie Peacock Reveals New Memoir SuperNayr

MEMPHIS (CelebrityAccess)—Charlie Peacock, the celebrated musician and producer, has announced the forthcoming release of his memoir, Roots & Rhythm: A Life in Music, which will hit shelves in early 2025 via Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing.

Peacock’s memoir promises an intimate exploration of his illustrious 50-year career, which includes prestigious Grammy Awards, successful solo albums, and founding the re:think/Capitol label. However, alongside his accomplishments, Peacock’s narrative delves into the challenges he has faced, both personally and professionally.

The memoir traces Peacock’s journey from his early beginnings to the present day – a self-described “chapter-by-chapter remix of the music, places, and people that made me and the music I made,” offering a candid reflection on the highs and lows of his life in music. From his pivotal role in developing the rock band Switchfoot to producing acclaimed artists like The Civil Wars, co-writing hits such as Amy Grant’s “Every Heartbeat,” rewarding records with Chris Cornell and Holly Williams and investing in the commercial music program and directing the School of Music at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Peacock’s career has been marked by diverse achievements.

Despite his professional success, Peacock encountered a significant setback in October 2017 when a debilitating headache and neurological symptoms struck him. Diagnosed with Dysautonomia and Central Sensitization, Peacock was forced to pause his career and focus on his health. In 2024, “the headache isn’t gone, but imagination, hope, and optimism are alive and well,” says Peacock.

Born during the rock ‘n’ roll era, Peacock’s musical journey has traversed various genres, from gospel rock to Americana/Folk and jazz. His contributions have left an indelible mark on American music, earning him Top 40 pop hits across three decades.

Looking ahead, Peacock is preparing to release a solo album co-produced by his son, Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated songwriter and producer Sam Ashworth. This upcoming album signifies a return to Peacock’s musical roots, drawing inspiration from classic singer-songwriters, jazz, gospel, literature, and personal experiences.

Roots & Rhythm: A Life in Music offers readers a raw and unfiltered glimpse into Peacock’s remarkable career, highlighting his challenges and the resilience that has kept him going. It’s a testament to the enduring spirit of a musician who has weathered the storms of life while staying true to his passion for music.
