Charles Leclerc picked up a very special win at the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2024 on Sunday (May 26) in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

The 26-year-old F1 driver, on the Scuderia Ferrari HP team, was doing very well in the weekend’s practice sessions, having the fastest lap times in sessions two and three, followed by gaining pole position (first) in qualifying.

He had previously been on pole position in 2021 and 2022, but was unable to clinch a win those years. However, this time he won his home race and made history!

The first and only other time was Louis Chiron in 1931.

“BEST DAY EVER ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for everything, I love you all ❤️🤍❤️🤍❤️🤍” Charles wrote on Instagram.

Placing second at the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix was Oscar Piastri of McLaren, and in third was Charles‘ teammate Carlos Sainz.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco presented the top three drivers with their trophies.
